Hello, I am Gabriella and I am an Illustrator.
I was born in Pisa, Italy in a multicultural family (my mom is from Brazil) and I moved to the USA in 2008 where I am raising my own multicultural family.
I graduated summa cum laude in Illustration from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, with a focus on Children’s Books.
During my studies, I have won the Memorial Cosgrove Scholarship for the Spring of 2018 and was selected to exhibit at the PJS Gallery’s 55th Student Exhibition with my work “Animal Guernica”in 2017 and for the Red Shoe Award exhibition in 2019.
Also in 2018 my work “A surprise for mom” got into the semifinals for the Adobe Achievement Awards.
I am the co-creator of Print-Cut-Paste-Craft.com, a website of free printable activities and decorations geared mainly toward children. My role is that of principal creator of kids activity for the website, which has about 3 thousand users a month.
I am an active member of the local SCBWI chapter and a member of the AOI.
I love working with a mix of traditional and digital painting and my focus is on illustrating children’s books but I would also like the opportunity to illustrate something for adults. I am a voracious reader and I am often caught stealing books from my two boys.
Drawing is what takes most of my time, besides my family , but I never miss a Shakespeare play or a Radiohead concert.
Because of my passion for everything Shakespeare, I created the Instagram 100 day project @shakesportraits in which I create a portrait of Shakespeare in a different style every day and I am also working on Illustrating A Midsummer’s Night Dream and Twelfth Night for children.
